ANNA, IL (KFVS) -The First Christian Church in Anna is celebrating on Sunday. Over 100 people are kicking off their new facility with a dedication service. The church was founded in 1881.
Their new location is at 200 Mallard Lane in Anna, Illinois. They moved from 204 N. Main Street in Anna where they struggled with two stories, lack of parking and lack of room to conduct events for the community.
According to Dee Armes, Senior Minister, this new facility has allowed more parking, acres of space for events and for children to play.
In 2010, members of the First Christian Church were challenged to commit to pledging funds for the construction of the new worship and education facility, despite the rough economic times.
The campaign called "Building a Future by Faith" raised nearly $700,000 over a three year period.
