UNION COUNTY, IL (KFVS) - The Union County government announced Tuesday they are now on Facebook and Twitter.
Union County commissioners say they reached out online as part of ongoing efforts to increase transparency and responsiveness. The public can find Union County at www.twitter.com/unioncountyil or www.unioncountyil.gov/facebook and "follow" or "like" them to receive the latest updates from the county.
Accordind to commissioners, Union County's shift to social media, the county's larger transparency initiative, is a recognition that they are in the midst of a shift in how government should work and how media is consumed.
