ANNA, IL (KFVS) - The Shawnee Community College is offering Utah Concealed Carry courses in March.

Two sessions of the Utah Concealed Carry course will be offered on Saturday, March 23 on the main campus in Ullin. The first session will be from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. and the second session will be from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. An evening session will be at the SCC Anna Extension Center in Anna, on Friday, March 22 from 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

The Utah CFP permit training class takes four hours. Firing of a firearm is not required to obtain the Non-Resident Utah concealed firearm permit. The permit is valid for 5 years and training is not required for renewal. Utah concealed firearm permit is recognized by 30 states for Illinois residents, including Indiana, Kentucky, Missouri, and Tennessee.

The Firearm Safety Group will provide the training and will include all the training materials, photos, and fingerprint cards. A fingerprint technician will be is present at the class and will be charging a $10 fee for  fingerprinting. This is required to submit a non-resident application. The class cost does not include the $51.00 registration fee to the state of Utah.

The class fee is $100. Pre-registration and payment is required and must be received by March 16. Space is limited per class – so reserve your spot today, specifying session choice when registering.
