21st Annual Blessing of the Bikes April 28

UNION COUNTY, IL (KFVS) - The 21st Annual Blessing of the Bikes will be Sunday, April 28, rain or shine.

Sponsored by the Christian Motorcycle Association's Lord Paheece Chapter, this is an all-day event. Riders and non-riders are welcome all day.

Roadkill stew and chili will be served at 12 p.m. and the message will be at 1 p.m.

Ascension Day Service at Bald Knob Cross April 27

ALTO PASS, IL (KFVS) - The Illinois Grand Commandery Ascension Day Service will be Saturday, April 27 at Bald Knob Cross.

The Sir Knights of the 5th Division and Sir Knight Jesse L. Johns, Sr., R.E.P. Grand Commander of the Grand Commandery of Knights Templar of the State of Illinois. They will assemble at 10 a.m.

They recommend you bring a lawn chair and a jacket or blanket in case the weather is chilly. Casual dress for ladies and full Commandery uniform, including sword, gloves and chapeau or cap and mantel for Sir Knights.

Lunch after the service will be at Giant City Lodge, in Giant City State Park, in Makanda, Ill.

All Masons and the public is invited to attend.

Bald Knob Cross dinner April 26

UNION COUNTY, IL (KFVS) - A Chicken and Dumplings Dinner at Bald Knob Cross will be Friday, April 26 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

The dinner will be $8 at the Anna Heights Baptist Church, 100 Turner Avenue in Anna, Ill. It raises money for maintenance and improvements to the Bald Knob Cross of Peace and its property.

The menu includes:

Chicken and dumplings
Green beans
Slaw
Hot rolls
Dessert
Drink

Parade of Quilts Celebration April 24-27

WHITTINGTON, IL (KFVS) - The Parade of Quilts Celebration will be April 24 through 27 at the Southern Illinois Art and Artisans Center.

Each year the Artisans Center offers a display of unique art quilts created by members of the Illinois Artisans Program. These exceptional quilts encompass both traditional and modern designs and offer a lively look into the art of contemporary quilt making.

The center is located at 14967 Gun Creek Trail in Whittington, Ill.
