Anna man indicted on drug induced homicide charges

ANNA, IL (KFVS) - Union County State's Attorney Tyler R. Edmonds announced Wednesday, December 12 the Union County Grand Jury returned indictments against David M. Olshon, 54, in connection with the death of Jami Restivo in January 2012.

Olshon is charged with one count of drug induced homicide, one count of unlawful delivery of a controlled substance and one count of unlawful delivery of a controlled substance.

According to Edmonds, Jami Restivo was found dead in Olshon's home on Jan. 11, 2012. Olshon was indicted by the Grand Jury after an investigation by Illinois State Police. He is alleged to have provided controlled substances to Restivo in the days before her death.

Olshon was arrested on Dec. 11 by ISP. He is being held at the Jackson County Jail in Murphysboro on $250,000 bond and is set for first appearance on Thursday, Dec. 13 at 9 a.m. at the Union County Courthouse in Jonesboro.

Anna man pleaded guilty to meth making charges

ANNA, IL (KFVS) - An Anna man pleaded guilty on November 19 to a federal indictment charging conspiracy to make meth.

Charles J. Brimm, 25, pleaded guilty to one-count indictment charging conspiracy to make meth.

According to U.S. Attorney for Southern District of Illinois Stephen R. Wigginton, the incident happened between 2010 and March 12, 2012 in Union, Jackson and Saline Counties. It was established during the plea hearing that Brimm was involved with others in the making of meth. Brimm supplied pseudoephedrine pills, lye and batteries to others to use in the making of meth.

The offense carries a penalty of up to 20 years in prison, a fine of not more than $1 million and a term of supervised release of at least three years.

The ongoing investigation is being conducted by the Union County Sheriff's Office, Jackson County Sheriff's Office, Murphysboro Police Department and Drug Enforcement Administration.

Jonesboro man indicted on armed robbery charges

UNION COUNTY, IL (KFVS) - Union County State’s Attorney Tyler R. Edmonds announced Tuesday the Union County Grand Jury has returned indictments against a Jonesboro man.

Heath P. Tellor, 27, is charged with one count of armed robbery, one count of armed violence and one count of unlawful possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver.

Edmonds says Tellor allegedly took property from a Dongola family at gun point. He was arrested by the Union County Sheriff's Office where he was allegedly in possession of cocaine.

ANNA, IL (KFVS) - Two rural Anna residents have been charged with making methamphetamine.

Jason B. Stanton, 42, and Brandy L. Stanton, 32, have been charged with one count of participation in methamphetamine production, one count of possession of meth, one count of possession of meth manufacturing waste and one count of unlawful possession of cannabis plants.

According to Union County State's Attorney Tyler R. Edmonds, the two are alleged to have engaged in making more than 400 grams of meth in rural Union County in September 2012. Both were arrested on Sept. 25 by Illinois State Police.

UNION COUNTY, IL (KFVS) - Union County State’s Attorney Tyler R. Edmonds announced Wednesday, September 26 two Cobden residents have been charged for Methamphetamine production.

Judith R. Robinson, 46, and John R. Robinson, 45, have been charged with one count of participation in meth production, one count of possession of meth making materials and one count of possession of meth making waste.

According to Edmonds, the two are alleged to have engaged in the making of more than 15 grams of Methamphetamine in rural Union County between March and September of 2012.

Both were arrested on Sept. 25 by Union County Sheriff Deputies and are being held at the Jackson County Jail in Murphysboro on $250,000 bond.

Union County joins 'America's Night Out Against Crime'

UNION COUNTY, IL (KFVS) - The Union County Sheriff's Office will partner with Emergency Services and local businesses to sponsor a National Night Out event.

The event will be Tuesday, August 7 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Anna City Park.

National Night Out is designed to raise crime and drug prevention awareness, and raise support and participation in local anticrime efforts. The program also hopes to build neighborhood spirit and police community partnerships and send a message to criminals, letting them know neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.

People across the country celebrate National Night Out with many special citywide and neighborhood events. Union county has many activities planned, such as fingerprinting, DNA kits, Smokey the Bear, bounce houses, games, giveaways,many emergency vehicles on hand for kids to see, and many more.
