Annual Bald Knob Cross meeting scheduled for Feb. 12 | Events

ALTO PASS, IL (KFVS) - The Annual Meeting for the Bald Knob Cross of Peace is scheduled for Tuesday, February 12 at 6:30 p.m. and will be held in the Welcome Center building at the Bald Knob Cross in Alto Pass.

The Annual Meeting will take place first and will be open to the public and the media.

After a recess, the Board of Directors will conduct their regular business meeting.

The only item on the agenda for the public portion of the meeting is the seating of Steven McKeown, Ron Stork and Janet Witmer to the Board of Directors. Each of them has previously served on the board.

Now that the cross is completely restored with the new lighting completed in December, the next focus of the board is continuing with the plans for improvements to the cross property beginning with the commemorative paver garden that will encircle the cross.

Also, don’t forget the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Cobden is holding their 5th annual fish fry fundraiser to benefit the Bald Knob Cross of Peace on Friday, Feb. 8.

The all-you-can-eat dinner which includes a drink and desert is $10 for adults and $5 for kids under 12 and will be served from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
