Woman accused of child's murder appears in court | News
JONESBORO, IL (KFVS)- An Anna woman charged in connection with murdering her child appears in Union County court.
Stacey Tiffin, 39, is accused of placing her hand over her 11-month-old daughter Cassandra's nose and mouth causing her death on September 16.
Stacey Tiffin was arrested Thursday on First Degree Murder charges. In court, Tiffin showed little visible emotion as a judge read the charges against her and told her the possible penalty for the crime is natural life in prison.
Tiffin's husband and other family members were in the courtroom but declined to comment on the charges.
The judge set Tiffin's bond at $500,000. She is due to be back in court for her preliminary hearing on October 30 at 1 p.m.
