Annual wiener dog races held in Anna | News

ANNA, IL (KFVS)- The weather made for a perfect day Saturday for hundreds of kids and their families in Anna, Illinois.

That's where this year's Kid's Fest provided an afternoon of fun at the 9th Annual Wiener Dog Races.

Their proud owners gathered to show off their favorite wiener dog costumes before the races began.

And then the moment everyone had been waiting patiently for all afternoon got underway, as the first heat of the races thrilled the crowds.

"My child, she don't know what to do," said David Stanley. "She won't leave him (Buddy) alone. Every time I try to do something she's like Buddy, Buddy. She loves him to death. He's the best thing that ever happened to our family."

Unfortunately Buddy didn't win his race.

But Little Angel and her owner took home the top prize for the best fashion outfit.

And the Ralls family's Little Macy took home the top dog honors as this year's grand champion fastest wiener dog!
