Union County Audit shows 'historic improvements' | News
UNION COUNTY, IL (KFVS) - The latest audit in Union County showed historic improvements, according to county leaders.
Leaders say for the first time in decades Union County government is officially out of debt.
“This is the first time in thirty or so years that Union County is in the black,” said Treasurer Darren Bailey. “It’s truly a testament to the difficult decisions our commissioners were willing to make in recent years. A lot of this moved into high gear with Randy Lambdin and Don Denny and has continued with our current commissioners. They could have kept kicking that can down the road but chose instead to listen to our recommendations to knuckle down and really make the right choices for the future solvency of the County.”
The current Union County audit report and reports going all the way back to 2005 are available for download at unioncountyil.gov under the “Audits” tab.
