EAST PRAIRIE, MO (KFVS) - This is Sgt. Jon James who served in the U.S. Marine Corps from August 2002 to October 2009.

His service included:

  • Japan from 2002 to 2003
  • Washington, D.C. from 2004 to 2007
  • LeJune, N.C. from 2007 to 2009
  • Iraq from 2007 to 2008

While in Japan, James toured in Korea and was on ship with the 31st MEU to Guam. He also went on deployment to Australia.

Cobden man pleads guilty to reckless homicide in I-57 crash

UNION  COUNTY, IL (KFVS) - Union County State's Attorney Tyler R. Edmonds announced Tuesday that Daniel J. Bible, 27, pleaded guilty to one count of reckless homicide in connection with the fatal I-57 crash.

Bible, who lived at 401 Appleknocker Street in Cobden, Ill., faces a maximum sentence of ten years in prison. A sentence hearing has been set for September 20 at the Union County courthouse in Jonesboro, Ill.

Bible was indicted in April after a March 23 traffic crash on Interstate 57 that resulted in the death of an Anna man.

He was taken into custody on April 15 in Marion by Marion police and Illinois State Police. He is currently being held at the Jackson County Jail on $150,000 bond.

FEMA assistance deadline for Ill. coming up

UNION COUNTY, IL (KFVS) - The deadline to apply for individual disaster assistance for Illinois residents will be Monday, August 8.

This is for homeowners and renters affected by storms, flooding or tornadoes between April 19 and June 6.

City of Anna: Utilities will be disconnected if unpaid

ANNA, IL (KFVS) - The city of Anna says Monday, July 25 will be the disconnection of any unpaid utility bills.

The utilities will be disconnected at 4 p.m. if the bill goes unpaid.
