UNION COUNTY, IL (KFVS) - Darren Bailey announced he will be seeking a second term as Union County Treasurer.
“I am very encouraged by the direction Union County is going, and especially the Treasurer’s Office. Over the past three years we have become more efficient and responsive to the needs of the people of Union County,” Bailey said.
In August of this year, Bailey was one of two southern Illinoisans to ever participate in Governor Jim Edgar’s week-long Edgar Fellow program, which aims at identifying and preparing the state’s future leaders for successful and bi-partisan governing.
Bailey said he was proud that his office was able to help lead the charge in many countywide success stories, including paying off the multimillion dollar inter-fund loan obligation two years ahead of schedule and producing the first budget surplus in at least twenty years.
